About KinMeal

Emily Peterson is a professional chef, food writer, and mom. Her culinary writing on meal planning and family food culture gave her a clear-eyed view of a problem no app had solved.

Families don't eat the same things — a parent eating light, a partner who wants something hearty, a teenaged athlete cycling through the same five meals — and one person quietly carrying the mental load of coordinating all of it, three times a day, seven days a week.

Emily built KinMeal because she lived that problem and couldn't find a tool that addressed it at the household level.

KinMeal lets one person own the meal planning or shares the responsibility, letting each member of the household input what they want to eat. KinMeal does the rest: one consolidated grocery list, and a growing database of household favorites that makes planning faster every week.

The first tool designed to share the mental load of "what's for dinner" across the whole family.
